Wesley Leighton joined Means Wealth Management in May 2015. Wes is a native of the area. He is a graduate of Bangor High School and an attendee of the University of Maine at Orono. As a UMaine student, Wes worked on a degree while also pursuing a career path in aviation.
After earning his commercial pilot’s license, he opted to move from the cockpit to the tower and became an air traffic controller. In 1982, Wes was hired by Federal Aviation Administration Bangor’s location. After a tenured career, he retired in July 2013 after 31 years of service.
Wes’s affinity for the stock market started in 1981 when he opened his first investment account with Fidelity Investments. For nearly 40 years, Wes has grown his own portfolio using equities and options strategies to generate additional income and reduce portfolio risk. Wes currently holds FINRA Series 7, 66, 4 (Registered Options Principal) and life insurance licenses.
Wes and his wife, Cindi, reside in Veazie. They have eight grandchildren and spend weekends watching ball games or gymnastic performances. When he isn’t reading about aviation or playing the guitar, Wes may be transporting his grandchildren to an event.
