TJ Herlihy, CPFA®, CEPA® Financial Advisor
TJ graduated from the University of Maine and has worked in the financial services industry for over a decade. Prior to joining Means, TJ worked for Maine’s largest bank, which gave him extensive experience with payroll and human resources as well as project, financial technology, and customer relationship management.
TJ is most at home working with clients on their current and future financial needs. Each client’s financial circumstances are unique and creating a plan for each situation is how TJ and Means Wealth differentiate themselves.
TJ is credentialed as a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA®). This credential demonstrates one’s knowledge, expertise and commitment to working with retirement plans. Plan advisors who earn their CPFA® demonstrate the expertise required to act as a plan fiduciary or help plan fiduciaries manage their roles and responsibilities.
He also holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) designation through the Exit Planning Institute®, reflecting advanced training in helping business owners align their business, personal, and financial goals as they prepare for future transitions. This credential enhances TJ’s ability to guide business owners through value creation and long-term exit planning strategies.
TJ lives in Orono, Maine, with his wife Emily, their two sons, and their family dog, Dutchess. In addition to helping raise his children, TJ serves his community as a board member of the Katahdin Area Council, University of Maine Augusta Board of Visitors, and the Penobscot County board for Junior Achievement of Maine.
