Wesley E. Leighton Financial Advisor

Wes joined Means Wealth in May 2015. Wes is a graduate of Bangor High School and an attendee of the University of Maine at Orono. While attending classes at UMaine, Wes also pursued a career path in aviation.

After earning his commercial pilot’s license, Wes opted to move from the cockpit to the tower and became an air traffic controller. In 1982, he was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration Bangor’s location. After a tenured career, he retired in July 2013 after 31 years of service.

Wes’s affinity for the stock market started in 1981 when he opened his first investment account with Fidelity Investments. For nearly 40 years, Wes has grown his own portfolio using equities and options strategies to generate additional income and reduce portfolio risk. He enjoys working with his clients to set goals and pave a path to achieve those goals, and especially appreciates the opportunity to provide a “big picture view” to his clients to help them keep their finances in perspective.

Wes and his wife, Cindi, reside in Bangor, Maine. They have eight grandchildren and enjoy watching them participate in their athletics. When he isn’t reading about aviation or technology, you may find Wes playing the guitar.
